Bus, train or shared transfer from Geneva Airport

Direct buses link Geneva Airport to Chamonix: FlixBus and BlaBlaCar Bus leave from the airport coach stop and reach the Chamonix Sud bus station in 1 h 35 to 1 h 40 on the timetable, longer in winter traffic. It is the cheapest journey to Chamonix for a solo traveller; the bus ticket price varies with the date you book, and there are only a few departures a day, so check them against your landing time. From Chamonix Sud you still need a local bus or a taxi to your hotel or chalet in the Chamonix valley.

There is no direct train from Geneva to Chamonix. By public transport you take the CFF train from the airport to Geneva Cornavin (6 minutes), the Léman Express L3 to Saint‑Gervais‑les‑Bains‑Le Fayet, then the Mont‑Blanc Express to Chamonix‑Mont‑Blanc station: two changes and about 2 h 40 according to the Chamonix tourist office, carrying your luggage throughout.

Shared transfers sit in between: a minibus shared with other passengers that drops each party at its accommodation. You wait at the airport for the group to assemble and the ride from Geneva Airport includes the other drop‑offs, so allow 2 h to 2 h 30. Check that a service operates on your dates and at your landing time.

How pick‑up works at Geneva Airport

Meeting point, Terminal 1Your chauffeur waits in the Terminal 1 arrivals hall with a name board, Swiss side. Landing on the French side? Tell us and we meet you at the French sector exit.
Parking and luggageThe car is parked in P1, a three‑minute walk away; the chauffeur pushes the trolley and loads everything, skis included.
Leaving GenevaDepending on the destination we take the A1 towards Lausanne and the Valais or the A40 towards Haute‑Savoie; the Bardonnex or Vallard customs post is usually passed without stopping. For Chamonix it is the A40 via Bardonnex, then the Autoroute Blanche.
Geneva‑based teamOur Geneva chauffeurs serve the Lake Geneva region, Haute‑Savoie and the Valais all year round: they know the Mont‑Blanc bridge rush hours and the customs queue days.

Frequently asked

Before booking Chamonix

Another question? Write to booking@swisstaxi.ch, reply within 2 hours.

Do I need a passport to cross into France?

A valid ID card is enough for Swiss and EU nationals; other passports should be to hand. Our vehicles are registered for cross‑border trips and there is usually no stop at customs.

Where do I meet the chauffeur at Geneva Airport?

In the Terminal 1 arrivals hall, Swiss side, with a name board. The chauffeur tracks your flight and messages you as soon as you land.

What if my flight is delayed?

We track your flight number live. Your chauffeur adjusts to the actual landing time and waits in the Terminal 1 arrivals hall; 60 minutes of waiting are included beyond that. No fees, nothing to do.

Are skis and bulky luggage accepted?

Yes. The E‑Class takes 3 suitcases and a ski bag; the V‑Class up to 7 suitcases with a ski rack; the Sprinter has a trailer on request. Tell us your equipment when booking, there is no surcharge.

Is the road safe when it snows?

Our vehicles run winter tyres and carry chains, and our chauffeurs know these roads in winter. If a road is closed we drop you at the nearest access point and adjust the price.

Are there busy periods for getting to Chamonix?

Yes: UTMB late August, Kandahar in February. On those days we leave earlier and the chauffeur follows live traffic; the price does not change.

Chamonix is waiting. So is your chauffeur.

Fixed price from CHF 400 per vehicle, instant confirmation, free cancellation up to 24 h before.
