On the ground

Val Thorens, the highest in Europe

Val Thorens is a pedestrian resort at 2,300 m: cars stop at the covered car parks or your residence's drop‑off point, and snowcats take over for some chalets. Your chauffeur leaves you at the drop‑off point given by your accommodation, with your luggage.

The climb from Moûtiers takes 45 minutes via Saint‑Martin‑de‑Belleville and Les Menuires, on a well‑equipped road that gets very busy on winter Saturdays: we adjust the airport departure if needed, at no extra cost.

Basel Airport

How pick‑up works at Basel Airport

Meeting point, Swiss sectorThe EuroAirport has a Swiss exit and a French exit. Your chauffeur waits at the Swiss sector exit; on request he meets you on the French side.
Parking and luggageThe car is in the airport car park, two minutes from the hall on foot; the chauffeur pushes the trolley and loads luggage and skis.
Leaving BaselThe customs road into Switzerland, then the A2 towards Bern, Lucerne and the Gotthard, the A3 towards Zurich, or the A35 on the French side towards Alsace; the Black Forest is reached via Weil am Rhein. For Val Thorens it is the A1, the A12 via Fribourg, then Lake Geneva.
Basel‑based teamOur Basel chauffeurs serve the Swiss plateau, Alsace and the Black Forest all year round and know the three borders: keep your ID to hand and the crossing takes a minute.

Frequently asked

Before booking Val Thorens

Another question? Write to booking@swisstaxi.ch, reply within 2 hours.

Do I need a passport to cross into France?

A valid ID card is enough for Swiss and EU nationals; other passports should be to hand. Our vehicles are registered for cross‑border trips and there is usually no stop at customs.

Where do I meet the chauffeur at the EuroAirport?

The airport has a Swiss exit and a French exit. Your chauffeur waits at the exit shown on your confirmation (Swiss by default, French for Alsace) with a name board.

What if my flight is delayed?

We track your flight number live. Your chauffeur adjusts to the actual landing time and waits at the Swiss sector exit; 60 minutes of waiting are included beyond that. No fees, nothing to do.

Are skis and bulky luggage accepted?

Yes. The E‑Class takes 3 suitcases and a ski bag; the V‑Class up to 7 suitcases with a ski rack; the Sprinter has a trailer on request. Tell us your equipment when booking, there is no surcharge.

Is the road safe when it snows?

Our vehicles run winter tyres and carry chains, and our chauffeurs know these roads in winter. If a road is closed we drop you at the nearest access point and adjust the price.

Are there busy periods for getting to Val Thorens?

Yes: Season opening in November, Trophée Andros. On those days we leave earlier and the chauffeur follows live traffic; the price does not change.

Val Thorens is waiting. So is your chauffeur.

Fixed price from CHF 1'270 per vehicle, instant confirmation, free cancellation up to 24 h before.
